BavariaPJ 11 #1 Posted July 15 What color paint and where have ya'll purchased it for your touch up's. I have a '92 520H and all i can fine online is that the paint color changed in 1990 to a darker shade of red...thx for the help. Also, everything on my tractor works well with the exception of the gas gauge. Is gauge related to maybe a fuse or something more? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

lynnmor 7,322 #3 Posted July 15 The correct color is Toro New Red, you should be able to find it online. The gas gauge is controlled by the sending unit installed in the top right of the gas tank, check the wiring there, often the terminals are corroded. cleat 6,100 #6 Posted July 15 That is why I asked what the gauge does when the key is turned on. If it does not move but simply sits in a random position either it is not getting power or it is defective. If it goes to full empty then likely either the sending unit or the wiring to it is defective or broken or has a bad connection. If it goes to or above full then the brown sending unit wire is likely shorted to ground somewhere. Some of these tests can be performed without removing the rear fender. However any work or testing on the sending unit itself will require the fender be removed for access. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
lynnmor 7,322 #7 Posted July 15 You should download the Demystification Guide to help you with anything electrical. Information on the Dorman sending unit can be found here. Removing the seat and fender isn't a big deal and it should be done periodically to clean debris from the transmission and elsewhere. While the fender is off and everything has been cleaned, oil every moving joint except the friction washers for speed control. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
