JPWH 6,040 #1 Posted July 11 I found this in the classifieds, contacted the seller, worked out a date to pick it up and brought it home today. The owner said if he had not found a buyer it was going to the scrap yard because he wanted it gone. He was having issues with the motor and didn't have time to deal with it. Timing was just right because my wife said she wanted a riding mower because she doesn't like my zero turn and was ready to shop the big box stores. The motor is a box of parts and the deck needs some repair but I will make it whole again and get it mechanically sound. This intent is to make it a dedicated mower. Work on this one should start in about 2 weeks. The seat is in very good condition and will be replaced and maybe passed on to someone. 8

ri702bill 8,387 #3 Posted July 11 Looks like a good start. Nice to see the block and connecting rod intact. Is the piston STD or oversize??.

I can't do that for 2 weeks. Doctors orders. Edited July 11 by JPWH

rmaynard 15,535 #6 Posted July 11 Good save. Those K241's are great engines, and easy to rebuild. Same block as the K301. Lots of cylinder to work with if it needs to be bored. Do you have all the other engine parts? I see a bearing plate, stator, and carburetor. Hopefully you have a flywheel and all the tins. And that seat. Worth more than some tractors.

AlexR 629 #10 Posted July 11 Nice score especially with that seat! Surprised you don't want to keep it on there, I would guess your wife might want something more comfortable?

Retired Wrencher 5,469 #14 Posted July 12 Jay that is a good save. You will have a happy wife in the end and great tractor. Enjoy the ride.
rick 233 #15 Posted July 12 Nice save! I have a C-100. A neighbor had bought it at a auction and brought it to me because it wouldn't start. The tractor had been sitting for a time exposed to the weather, and had a stuck valve. I ended up with the machine because he wouldn't spend the money to repair it.
chip61 661 #16 Posted July 16 Great save! That tractor already looks better than most of mine

I have lots of C series parts for the tractor & deck if you find you need anything along the way. I'd be more than happy to trade parts for the seat, just hit me up if you need anything, the C 100 is a perfect mowing machine & good on gas. Your wife is going to love it.
JPWH 6,040 #18 Posted July 22 My son came for the weekend and took the motor home. Hopefully I will get it back in a couple of weeks rebuilt and ready for service. In the meantime I will repair the deck and service the tractor and repair anything that needs attention.
