Interesting, how does that work for you, with no springs on the bottom of the seat (just the bumpers)? I'm asking because my '89 310-8 needs some attention in that area, and the springs just seem to get in the way. Is the gas lift even necessary?

The seat has the big leaf springs like all of my other wheel horses. The little coil springs under the seat are just for the safety switch and bottom out when you sit on it offering no ride comfort. That is done by the big flat leaf springs. I Remove the seat switch on my machines so the little coil springs are not needed. 1
