Value of Tractor

I have a 1980 Wheel Horse C165 that is almost like new. It's been garage and not used for about 25 years. Does anyone have an idea of what it is worth?

Please tell us more about it...  Any pictures?  Hydro or 8 speed?  All these things help determine value.

Sorry no idea of value, the apearant condition makes it more difficult to value than an "average" worked tractor.

I'm not a fan of the shaker plate engine mounts, but it does look nice and has a nice looking 48" SD deck.       So it has not been started for 25 years?   What was it used for the first 20 years?        Is the engine and transmission oil clean with no water.   Have you tried to start it?

The fender has been replaced. Can't see the Wheel Horse Logo on the seat It may have been replaced.  I would put an once or so of Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinder and let it sit for a couple of days before

I checked to see if it will turn over by hand. If it hasn't been started in 25 years that cylinder has to be bone dry.

Remember this machine would have come with the plastic fender.  That steel one might be a bit mismatched, but well worth the upgrade in my book

Note, not all Blackhoods came with the plastic fender. I have a 1984 that has the original metal fender on it. There appears to be a WH logo on the seat in the square on the backrest part. I agree the fender appears to be slightly a different shade of red. Who knows. Nice looking WH though.

Correct! The steel seat pan was a factory thing in 84, and yep that’s a WH logo seat.

@Curtis H   personally a big fan of KROIL PENETRATING OIL  , nothing has a creep  effect like it , haven  brought back a number of long neglected engines . removal of spark plug , kriol spray , would also move this by hand , remember you are waking up a long sleeping beauty , get that kroil in a film state , ring  freeing , slide action , let that work . would also attempt to start that on a seperate gallon of heavily treated fresh gas . drop carb bowl , clean out the dried crud , agree with the trans oil drain , shift boot , lots to do . bet that paint would like a lubrication  refresh , let it sit days , for depth effect , then just a clean clear soft cloth rub down , all of mine have recovered , clean shinny  and no  dirt effect , know what I would do , with the same opportunity , pete

All I can say about this is that it’s not too often that you see an original unmolested example of a C-series tractor like that. Plastic fenders or not, you can tell just by looking at it that this is a preserved part of Wheel Horse history. Unless this tractor has a broken rod or something like that (which I highly doubt) I’d agree with @WHX?? it’s worth at least a thousand dollars. I’m basically out of indoor storage space nearing the twenty Wheel Horse mark or I’d probably would have beat Steve to the punch and put in an offer. I’d love to have that in my collection. That tractor deserves to be stored inside like it has been. Steve has one of the best barns for this horse to live in.

All great questions. I also am usually not a fan of the shaker plate, but if there is one place I can see it's value, it is with a k341...  Great tractor.

Exception to the rule might be a '84 C-195 with the control levers mounted up top.

After further review on the jumbo tron that girl is immaculate. Tractor heavy here but put me on the dibs list.

Nice looking machine - just a FYI - anytime I've had an engine that hasn't been "run" in years - I take the plug out and work some oil on the cylinder walls and valves/guides turning the engine by hand  - after 25 years its dry on the top…Marvel - WD-40 or similar
