K482S Oil Filter

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I recently acquired a 1974 D180 with K482S engine.  There's no oil filter?  That doesn't seem right.  Anybody have trouble running this engine without a filter?

The spec number should be 35222  if so no filter WH saved a couple bucks....Most spec# had filters....

Just noticed there was a spill trough available for engines with filters like the K532 WH used.  Filter change on D200s is a messy job...would have been nice if WH had sprung for that option

There just appears to be a factory block off plate where I assume the filter would belong.  Seems to be the same position on my D200

So you could add one if you got the parts off another engine

Finding oil filter parts off another engine seems like an exercise in futility.  But I may dig through some parts catalogs and see what I can do.  Maybe tap some threads behind the block off plate.

Thanks for the help guys!
