Richard Wahlstrand 81 #1 Posted June 29 I thought that I had a stuck/frozen choke cable on my 314-H. After removing the cable from the engine, I slipped a 6-inch length of 1/4-inch fuel line over the cable and attached it with a screw-type hose clamp. With the end vertical, I filled the fuel line with marvel oil (less than a teaspoon) and let it drain into the cable. It only took a few seconds. There was little mess. The lubrication should last several years. My problem was a stuck choke shaft in the carburetor. Loosened it with a few drops of marvel.

ri702bill 8,387 #3 Posted June 29 Cable treatment with MMO is a regular service item for me - they get removed, positioned vertically and MMO added. I do this at least every year & a half - both tractors see 4 season use....
peter lena 8,655 #4 Posted June 29 @ri702bill agree with you on the regular cable function maintenance ! most if not all of the related cables I see are frozen solid , or barely function , WHAT COULD YOU POSIBLE DO TO MAKE IT MOVE ? another part of that is RELATED LINKAGE POINTS , guy up the road from me , has 2 horses and 3 work horses , just rotting / rusting away in a shed , but he wants top money ( laughable ) because its a wheel horse . sure you have seen similar , BTW small extension springs to cable movement end connections , make for effortless movement , ( don't tell any one ) , stay greasy pete
