I have the right wire and a diagram of they it all gose but I am running a different kind of starting with only a key and I dont know where to route the wires so they don't melt.if you have pics of one done please send them to me. The only wire on a 701 that runs to the front of the engine is the wire to the coil. Achto 27,639 #4 Posted June 26 One note - you will not be able to use the original 701 starter solenoid. The factory solenoid uses a negative signal to power the magnetic switch. You will need to replace it with a newer solenoid that uses positive power to power up the magnetic switch. 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Keaton 437 #6 Posted June 26 I re wired most of my 701 last year when I got it I was 13, someone put a cub cadet solinoid on it and I just color coated the digraham and went off that, it works, but, I just kept the original push button and got a on/off switch from Menards, because the plastic dash on mine was ruined, I put a diamond plate dash on mine, and I just have a 2 prong on.off switch and the original push button, o dont have any pictures of it now, I don't know if this will help any erither, but good luck. That will work fine as is.
