C-141 rear lift cable question

Recommended Posts

CaptBob

I'm looking to replace the jury rigged rear lift cable on my 79 C-141. Toro wants around $60 for the part.

I picked up a couple of stainless steel wire rope terminals and some wire rope at Harbor Freight:

The nut terminal was on clearance and rang up at only 1 cent! I paid $18.35 with tax for all the above stuff.

Could someone please measure thier rear lift cable at the points indicated on attached pic

Hey all,

Do you folks know it there is some special clevis pin that should be used to connect to the lift bellcrank?

That seems to be the weakest link.

Thanks

Sorry I took so long to answer, My original clevis just has a 1/4" hole and I have miss placed the pin it may turn up too if I look in the right junk box. I would just make a new one from a longer 1/4" bolt saw off the treads and drill a hole for the clip pin. You may need to grind off part of the bolt head for clearance. I had misplaced to cable, tube and most of the rest of it when I needed it last year. I made another on that I have on the tractor now. I was looking for a box to use when I found the original.
