KT17 Walbro Carb

Recommended Posts

BoilerBrown

Hey All,

I have a C-175 with a series II KT17. I am attempting to rebuild the Walbro carb but feel I may be missing something. The previous owner had had this apart and I'm not sure he knew qhat he was doing. Things were lose, gaskets missing, linkages unhooked, etc.

I am not familiar with these fixed jet carbs. Am I missing a screw on the bottom side of the main jet like most carbs have?

There should be a brass bolt with a small round gasket on it which holds the bowl on

Yes, I have that. I have the carb apart to clean. Is there anything missing from the image aside from float/needle and bowl?

Ok. My issue is I'm getting gas spraying out the top side of the carb. I thought maybe I was missing a brass screw for that main jet that I see on most carbs that has a small orifice in it.

For reference, here is a different carb I have. This center screw is what I was afraid I was missing but I'm unfamiliar with these Walbro fixed jets so wasn't sure if it came with something similar or not.

If you have an adjustable Kohler carb you should rebuild that.  I've never been a fan of fixed jet carbs.
