Cjwv1975 64 #1 Posted June 25 So my K91 surges pretty bad at about 3000 rpms. Ive cleaned carb, set plug gap and points, repalced fuel line, running non ethanol gas and tried tuning carb. Nothing has really improved it. Now I can only get to about 3500 rpm because my throttle cable keeps slipping by the thottle lever not sure if that would have anything to do with it. Any suggestions welcome and thanks
wallfish 17,000 #2 Posted June 25 (edited) Can you smooth it out with adjusting the choke? If so, air leak is the most common cause of hunting. Top of carb at the throttle shaft can get worn or the gasket to the block. With the engine running spray carb cleaner in those areas. If the spray changes the rpm of the engine, there's your leak location Edited June 25 by wallfish

peter lena 8,627 #4 Posted June 25 @Cjwv1975 my regular routine for running in any recent pick up is to run it in on a seperate gallon of heavily treated fresh fuel , that would also let me verify what the existing fuel hose / debris , related is like . very often fuel hose break down , lack of filters , I USE 2 inline filters on my horses . collective debris in tank ? have any penetrating oil INSIDE THE THROTTLE CABLE ? move easily ? smooth ? sounds like you have a collection of issues . think a seperate , clean fuel source , will help you , hope any part of this helps . pete
