WHX??

I have Napa 1764 in my files but also  1762 & 1374. There is a long and a short filter and one has the wrench hex on the end. Counter guy should be able to help sort out.

Onan 1120800 crosses over to a Wix 51762, 4.575" long. You may also want to consider adding a FilterMag to both the oil and hydro filters along with magnetic drain plugs.

1764 might be the longer one then. :confusion-shrug:The longer one just fits in ther.

I have been known to put a cow rumen magnet on my filters.

And if yours is missing the rubber grommet that goes on the cylinder tin to help seal it to the oil filter body, replace that as well.  VERY important to keeping the air flow for that cylinder going over the jug and head fins.

I got it from a good source that a missing seal can reduce the air flow by up to 30%.  When playing around with alternate brands and part numbers of oil filters, be sure to check the fit of that seal.

Correct, and that cylinder already has a challenge to cooling with the belt guard blocking the output side of the cooling air to some degree.  The valve adjustments and keeping the flywheel side of the cylinder fins super clean are highly important as well. More so on the Onan vs other brands.   But its a great practice to do on other brands other than valve adjustment.

What is the best place to put the cow rumen magnet on the filter? I've had good luck with magnets on drain plugs.

Anywhere iron particles will find it. Could use a couple nice thing about them reusable.
