314-H control lever adjustments

Recommended Posts

On a mid 90's eaton hydro with the control lever on the dash next to the steering wheel, has anybody tried or better yet been successful in adjusting the bump between neutral and reverse. It's push down action to allow for reverse and its really kind of an awkward motion, is there any way to soften that

I don't have an answer, but that awkward motion is why I never kept those  tractors.   All my tractors have Eaton 1100s with the motion control lever on the tunnel.

If the control is the same as a '93 520H, then yes. I have done it. the 'push down' then reverse made getting unstuck in snow much more time consuming and aggravating. I don't currently have any good pictures of mine but I'll include a shot from the pdf to show which part I mean.

the control plate that the neutral safety is bolted to has a 90-degree section that makes it so you need to press the motion control lever down then to reverse. If you cut the 90-degree section and make it to a ramp then you can go forward<->reverse much easier.

thanks for the info, I'll take look and see what's involved, may have to wait until it's not so hot though to dig into it

I just altered all of mine to a straight slot.   Then added a pedal for foot control.

This illustration of the floor gate for the motion control is a good parallel for how the internal gate works on the newer models with column mounted motion controls.
