Adding lights to raider 14

Recommended Posts

I’m very new to the wheel horse world and garden tractors in general. I just purchased a raider 14 and noticed it looks like it has factory options for lights and a cig lighter but mine does not have any electrical options equipped. How difficult would it be to add at least the lights? I was able to find a manual with parts lists/specs and diagrams, including electrical. I understand i have the manual but i just don’t know a really know anything about these tractors. Have any of you done something like this to yours?

In our Herd we have several tractors we've added lights to.

The options are endless with the LED lights available.

You can run them through a factory type switch or install whatever one you'd like that's compatible.

The wiring itself is very simple.

The tractor diagram can be followed or you can just add a separate circuit.

As Eric says, it is easy to add lights.  If you choose LED lights, you will get better results connecting them to the battery, as the battery will give a 'cleaner' D.C. source than the output from the voltage regulated on the engine.

Good luck and have fun with your tractor.

LEDs are the way to go! Just make sure you make a ground jumper between the hood and frame to prevent flickering.
