chorusguy 227 #1 Posted June 20 Hi all. I bought a c125 auto at auction and, shall we say, it isn't quite what I expected. Said motor was rebuilt, but is smokes a little. Seeping oil from head gasket bolts, inverted throttle and a few other things, but I really need immediate help with this: The starter isn't engaging with the flywheel and I need to push it into the back yard. I can't find the hydraulic release on the transmission. On my c160 I can readily find it, but I have no clue about this one. There is a sticker that says open valve on transmission behind fender with 5/16 open end wrench. I simply can't see it. Can anyone give me some help?
ebinmaine 67,415 #2 Posted June 21 This is a pic from last fall when we built a C121. The valve faces forward and is in under the left side fender. The tire in the pic is the left rear. There's no frame here but it faces forward. It's NOT easy to access with the sheet metal in place.
JCM 9,130 #3 Posted June 21 Is your C-125 a Blackhood ? If it is there would not be a release if it's an Eaton hydro. @chorusguy

But if that's an Eaton..... would it already be in a free float kinda mode? I'm not overly familiar with them.
JCM 9,130 #5 Posted June 21 I have an original 1981 WH Brochure and it shows a spin on filter on the left rear of the transmission like all my hydros have.
chorusguy 227 #6 Posted June 21 Ok. Thanks everyone. It is a black hood. I downloaded a manual. It says it can be pushed at a walking pace, so I'll give that a try. There is a lot to go through on this one. I'll need more help, I'm sure. Very grateful for all your help.
