Well how'd I do?

With everything lined up and the dogpoint holding the shifter in place, slowly tighten the dogpoint as you shift through the gears. Once you start to feel resistance in the shifter back it off just a tiny fuzz, hold it in place with the allen and tighten the jam nut. :)

On and working great.  Dang set screw was barely attached.  Gonzo now.  Easy fix.  On to the next thing

It looks like the dogpoint setscrew is sheared off. It needs to be replaced and a locknut put on it.

That's what I meant. I need to hit the Hillman section.  It is just right now but not for long.

one off the things I do is buy longer dog point 1/4 x 20 set screws from McMaster - Carr.   The longer set screw gives you more flexibility in removing or tightening the dry screw in the tight confines you have to work in on that shifter.

You might not find them in Hillman drawers... kind of a specialty thing.

I do too and buy in bulk... use your shout out you need one. When I was a :wh: rookie Racinbob sent me one so now I think I can afford to pay it forward.

Remember to get a rubber boot on that shifter.  That's where water gets in these transmissions!

You'll be a seasoned pro when you get this one done.

I like to use 3/4" or 1" dogpoints. Longer and they can chew at the shifter boot. :)

We got a little break from the heat.  No horse work just relaxing in the yard.  Found some 3d prints I don't remember buying.  Think I might put this one on.
