Stopped on the way home to pick a few berries and a helper showed up to help pick.

Interesting to see your berries are a good 6+ weeks behind ours.

We picked about May1st to May 15th.

Yep, I've been picking the wild black raspberries and my tame red raspberries for two weeks.   Washed, dried, and spread on cookie trays to freeze. Then tagged and bagged in 2 cup sammy bags.       My tame blackberries won't be ready for 2 weeks.

Boggles my mind when I hear the length of folks' growing seasons.

We just planted the garden 2, 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Established farms have some types crops ready.

We won't see berries up here for weeks yet.

This was the wettest April and May in many years here in my area, and it all came on the weekends. The wife was almost 6 weeks behind in getting her garden in. Usually she has tomatoes and a few bean plants producing already. So far the only things we've pulled up are the Spring onions. The bean plants are just starting to get big enough I can tell them from the weeds.

We freeze them the same way. I love my wife’s blackberry custard pie all year long.

That was last year, for us.

This year the rain/snow was heavy off n on but averaged out normal until June. It's been pretty dry here.

We can put in a few hardy plants early May if we watch the frosts.

Just last June 2023 around the 10th we had a hard freeze. Unusual but not impossible.

Now June 2024 is record heat. 🥵 🔥 ☀️

Yeah, here we were getting at least 3-4 inches of rain a week for almost 2 months. Now we haven't had any for a few weeks, and nothing real in sight.

We don't have a garden this year, but the blackberries are just now beginning to get ripe. Probably 3-4 weeks later than usual.

My red raspberries are about over, I picked what will probably be the last quart today.    A few blackberries were ripe.   They are on schedule to be ripe by July 4th.
