C-85 681 #1 Posted June 19 I'm in the process of rebuilding a C145A and its muffler and I was just going to weld the crack in the top of it where the pipe goes into it, but when I took it off I heard parts/pieces clanking around inside of it! I carefully cut it apart hoping i'd find something simple in it and just clear it out, but its whole innards are gone! Then I was going to weld it back together, but now I think it is time to replace it, and I'm hoping you folks will have some suggestions . peter lena 8,608 #13 Posted June 19 @C-85 make one out of 316 S/S piping , look up the schematic build for measurements . need about a 4" ID of piping , and perforated S/S for baffling , tig weld would be perfect . weld on isolation mount points . local scrap yard probably has a stash of stainless . that 316 grade of stainless , laughs at just about anything , corrosive . pete 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
C-85 681 #14 Posted June 19 Hi All, Thanks for the feedback! I didn't realize that my pictures couldn't be seen, so I'm curious, no one could see them or none of you? ! I'm far from a tech person and hope to learn how to post pictures better!
