Kenneth R Cluley 528 #3 Posted June 16 there is a site i believe called Repower. lists replacement engines and adapters/parts to fit vintage tractors. pretty pricey though. I would rebuild original if possible or look for a kohler single and rebuild if it were my machine. Lots of "engines" that will fit even diesels have been swapped in just a matter of lining things lined up and getting belts and guards to function properly. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Keep your oil pan from the K241, as it will have the two holes drilled and tapped on the PTO side for direct bolt on. Also, any 10-16 Kohler Magnum will work, but you'll have to change over to magneto ignition. Very simple to do. Same goes for the oil pan. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Access to k series not great in uk. Though I have found a K321 (4 hrs away, and no promises as to how run-worthy it is). Rebuild I am told is not on the cards. All mashed up inside. I am not mechanically minded, so a friend is looking at it for me. You are correct. the k241 through K341 are all "Big Block" engines (Their block has the same outside dimensions.). But be aware there are wide base and narrow bas engines. This thread will help you understand wide vs narrow base. You "probable" have a wide was engine. Take your oil ban to match it to the base of the engine. You also need to natch the crankshaft size and length. If you have an electric clutch the crank needs to have a hole threaded in the end of it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
