What a time to learn a trade. Diesels that blew up, the onset of front wheel drive across the platforms, beginnings of Computer Command Control, Electronic Spark Timing and Torque Converter clutch. General Motors Sealant (Stinky Stuff. Smelled like swamp butt!) instead of gaskets. Crazy stuff. Then someone would drop off a 68 Belair or a 72 Olds and it was like a breath of fresh air Ug. I have two on my docket right now with torque converter clutch shudder. And these aren't quick slap a converter in them. The input shafts wear where they pass through the pump and it unseals the circuit causing a rhythmic cycling and resulting in an overhaul. One is covered by an extended warranty and is already torn down. The other is customer pay and the guy is still deciding if he wants to tear into it or just get a new car. Plus about 60 hours of OTHER work. Edited June 18 by adsm08
Keaton 435 #27 Posted June 19 my dad has more plans with this truck, like we don't have enough projects, we said we should pull the engine, have it bored out, new bigger pistons and fuel inject it so it starts easier, runs better and lasts forever, or for a while. so well the engine is being machines, I thought about taking the bed off and cleaning it up for a 4h project . I will post updates
