formariz 11,987 #1 Posted June 14 (edited) Can one go into the show grounds on Wednesday night or only first thing on Thursday ? My son is getting there on Wednesday and was planning to leave trailer there while doing some other activities in area. Edited June 14 by formariz
Mike'sHorseBarn 2,998 #2 Posted June 14 They don't let anyone through the gate until 9am Thursday.
Ed Kennell 38,151 #3 Posted June 14 Yep, Thurs at 9AM is when the stampede starts. Someone may be there on Wed. Call Randy Culley 717 418 0845 if you want to arrange an early admission.
rmaynard 15,436 #4 Posted June 14 Actually, I'm in the gate and in line at around 8 on Thursday, and I'm not the first there. There are those who do get there on Wednesday evening, but I think they have some special dispensation from the Pope.

formariz 11,987 #6 Posted June 14 It’s the trailer with tractors. He is staying in a hotel at Gettysburg and it does not fit in lot there.

Have him cancel his resi and get a room in either the Comfort Inn or he can hang with up at the Quality Inn in Chambersburg. You have to unhook the trailer but there should be room to park it. Gettysburg is a big tourist magnet trap with no room to change your mind even. Edited June 14 by squonk
formariz 11,987 #9 Posted June 14 He is really into history and the Civil War . He religiously spends countless hours in the battlefield with kids. It’s just that it is the first time he gets there on Wednesday rather than Thursday. He spoke to Randy Culley and it’s ok for him to drop trailer on Wednesday. Many thanks for number and suggestion @Ed Kennell. 4

Many thanks for number and suggestion @Ed Kennell. I got permission to do the same one year. For me, coming from east of Gettysburg and staying at the Comfort in Scotland, it worked very well. This year staying in Gettysburg but got the ok from the hotel to park the trailer for Wednesday afternoon and night.
WHX?? 48,815 #11 Posted June 15 Kev @Pullstart you see the Walmart thing Ed posted? Brings back memories don't it... They let us stay at the one in Chambersburg once and even water up. Got water filters in the store. 1

Staff is allowed to camp Wednesday night, but their insurance policy for the masses doesn’t kick in until 9am. It’s not that they want to be strict, or “jerks” about it, it’s a policy for a reason. I’m glad they have us, I ain’t messing that up! 1
