RetroMower 349 #1 Posted June 7 I've been looking for a front deck mower and this Arco Allis popped up in my marketplace suggestions. I personally never heard of this manufacturer. If I had to guess it looks like something meant for commercial use making me think it's possibly a quality machine. Just asking if anyone has any experience or knowledge of this brand to help me pull the trigger on it
ebinmaine 67,013 #2 Posted June 7 At that price it's a win for parts alone. Any way to find out WHY the drive belt goes off in reverse? It could be as simple as needing a new belt.

I know nothing about it but I know its not 70s or 80s. I'd say mid 90s with this motor. It also looks to suffer from a severe lack of maintenance
RetroMower 349 #4 Posted June 7 (edited) Yup its from 94 and his explanation for the belt is he bought it and used it till the belt started coming off so he bought a different mower so my assumption of lack of maintenance was correct Edited June 7 by RetroMower
ebinmaine 67,013 #5 Posted June 7 Makes me wonder if the price is more negotiable.....

RetroMower 349 #8 Posted June 10 (edited) I'm going to see this unit tomorrow. In the meantime I looked up a 1316H on tractor data.com and between 90 and 96 these things retailed for $4000 - $4500. Edited June 10 by RetroMower
RetroMower 349 #9 Posted June 14 It wasn't worth $450. Deck was rotted and the spindles sounded like they were grinding coffee. Probably from sitting outside without the belt guard. O well
