Could be the camera angle, buy that inner hyd pump belt looks too wide for the pulley.  Should be 3/8x48.       BTW, I was mistakenly looking at the 1045 manual where I saw the 70" drive belt.  The 1054 and 953 manual lists the 82" belt.

Looking at this pic again, that belt looks fairly new.  I'm wondering if the PO tried to install a new  1/2x82" transmission belt and had trouble getting it on the larger pulley and just put it on the smaller inner hyd pump pulley. :confusion-confused:

Yeah, I had my clean duds on this morning and was headed out to work so I couldn't quite figure that out.  I thought maybe the belt slipped off the inner pulley?  I bought a 1/2" x 47" at TSC this morning because I wasn't sure if tehe 1591 part number was 1/2" or 5/8"... this is the first I have seen 3/8" though.  TS only had 1/2 and 5/8 belts and had no 5/8 x 47".  Was hoping to replace both at once but if need be will just get the engine/drive working for now.

Where are you seeing electric PTO?  I'm still a newbie - says so in my status!  (edit: seems that post promoted me to member, lol)

No idea why anyone would change the PTO to electric..    The instant on engagement is not good for the equipment and the wires are usually broken off too short to repair.

IMO, the original PTO system shown on Mikes 953 pic was the best ever.  No safety switches, easy to set the gap and pressure on the plate, and nothing to wear out.

Ok, so I guess I am on the hunt for an original PTO, are the forum here and eBay the best places?  I want simple and it looks like this is already a problem with the broken off wires...

You may be able to find one on :techie-ebay:  or check with Lincoln at A-Z Tractor.    https://www.a-ztractor.com/

This manual shows everything you would need for the manual PTO setup.

Have you tried to drive it.  Looking at that straight on picture of the belt. It does appear to be angled to the transmission rather than to the hydraulic pump.

It drives but I'm thinking same. Will be getting into the belts later today to see what's really up.  I have a new drive belt.  Had to order the hydraulic.
