squonk 41,794 #1 Posted June 4, 2024 Not something you see every day in your average tool box. ( Hint), I didn't start using these until I went to work at the Hospital.
Racinbob 11,393 #2 Posted June 4, 2024 I know what they are but I won't spill the beans. Never saw the need for them myself.

adsm08 2,332 #4 Posted June 4, 2024 I believe those are for securing crazy people. Which would make sense why you never used them before starting at the hospital.

8ntruck 7,224 #12 Posted June 5, 2024 There was a clue in the picture that made it easy to chase down. A pair of those pliers might be nice once I get deeper into my construction project in Ky.

JimSraj 462 #14 Posted June 5, 2024 Are they used to install or remove conduit fittings?
squonk 41,794 #16 Posted June 5, 2024 They come in real handy when trying to remove old fan coils out of walls. Usually there is a handy box stuffed behind a pipe or wall stud with no room for the old hammer and screwdriver routine. I can get these pliers in at an angle and get the conduit nut moving. Haven't had to get involved in any renovations in a few years now.
rmaynard 15,780 #17 Posted June 5, 2024 I had never seen one of these until my neighbor died and I cleaned out his tools. He was an electrician.
wallfish 17,147 #18 Posted June 5, 2024 The only time you need them is when someone else used them to crank down the nut. LOL But I can definitely see how they are very handy for the person dealing with those nuts everyday.
