adsm08 2,060 #1 Posted June 3 (edited) Out driving around Carlisle today at work and I ran across a WH 10 for sale. I really thought I took some better pictures, but I didn't. The machine looks solid, it's not pretty, as the paint looks like it was redone on some parts, or parts have been mixed and matched from different tractors. Not all the panels are the same shade. Has what looked like a 42" SD deck on it, and a K241/8speed combo. and it needs tires. The key wasn't with it, and I didn't have any in that style on me, so I don't know if it runs. I was thinking of looking for another unit just for mowing that the show. This would fit the bill, but is a little more than I was hoping to spend at $700. Pullstart 62,881 #2 Posted June 3 Sounds like a pretty inflated asking price, to me.

If it had been a C-series I might have called the number and tried to get him down to $400. If i could find a good running 310 or 312 with a good solid deck that just needs some TLC I might be talked up to $700. That tractor for $700, seemed high to me.
squonk 41,118 #4 Posted June 3 Those pics aint' much but any tractor that runs ok, has a deck that works and you can mow with it is worth $700 all day long. IMHO 2

Sparky-(Admin) 21,318 #11 Posted June 4 The model number in your pic comes up as a 73 Raider 10? The hood decals are more in line with the Raider style. 1-0360 1973 Lawn & Garden Tractor Raider 10 8-Speed Kohler K241S-46636D 10 Wheel Horse 5086 ————————- 1-0365 1973 Lawn & Garden Tractor 10 Hp 8-Speed Kohler K241S-46636D 10 Wheel Horse 5086

Lee1977 6,659 #14 Posted June 4 (edited) I wouldn't pay $700 for it.. Edited June 4 by Lee1977
8ntruck 7,004 #15 Posted June 4 A fair selling price generally settles to a point where the seller is equally unhappy with a lower than asking price matches a unhappy buyer with a higher than original offer price. 2
squonk 41,118 #16 Posted June 4 A crappy big box mower is over 2 grand. This mower will probably still be going when the new one dies
adsm08 2,060 #17 Posted June 4 (edited) Got better pictures today. It's a little more beat than I noticed yesterday. Deck shell has a crack that is repairable. Fender pan is cracked at mounting bolts. There is welding spatter on the fender pan, so a repair attempt was made and failed. Probably nobody drilled the ends of the cracks and so they kept spreading. Hood has a nice dinger that they tried to cover up with one of the for-sale signs. Looks like the carb and a hub have been replaced. Implement lift handle is damaged, but hand controls move freely. There is that awesome home-brew heat shield around the exhaust. squonk 41,118 #19 Posted June 4 That one doesn't look like it runs too good or cuts grass too good. What I meant by my statement relates to a tractor that is mechanically sound. That one isn't. I've sold tractors that had worse paint and more rust, but the hood wasn't falling apart and the lift handle worked like it should

Assuming it did run I have most of the parts and or skills I need to put it in working order. I have a half decent lift handle, and my part-out unit is the same body, so I have a good square hood, I have the tools and skills to fix the fender pan, but $700 seems high. In fact after getting a good look over it I'd want to come in a lot closer to $300.
