k341 wide vs narrow base

Recommended Posts

Sublauxation

I have a '75 c160.  Accidentally dropped the foil from an oil quart down the filler and it won't come out so were going to separate the block from the pan.  Looking for the gasket it seems there is a wide and narrow base k341 but my tractor is 100 miles away so I can't see it.  I think it's the wide base but can anybody confirm that.
Thanks

I found that most engines that are on a shaker plate are wide base. The ones bolted directly to the frame are narrow base.

That picture shows a wide base block. That post seems backwards, or my terminology is backwards.

Pan gasket for a K341 wide base. Found w/ most shaker plates.

K341 narrow base pan gasket. Found on most frame mount engines.

Seller often have wide vs narrow mixed up.  Just order the $16 kit with all the stuff and you will have spare gaskets.

BTW you have the green one shown above on your C-160.

K341 from the C=160-8 Ian working on.  Note the shape of the gasket.  It is a largre base bolted directly to the frame.  You can see in teh other picture from a C141 shaker you do not have the flanges/ears

Thanks for all the info, the kit including everything, and both gaskets, seems to be the way to go.  Thanks again!
