857lover 291 #1 Posted May 31 so i just bought a 520-8 with a kwik way loader from marketplace and it was supposed to be in good running shape and well it isn’t the battery won’t charge and i can see he knew because the regulator was replaced and i had a parts 416 that i swapped stators with and still not charging so my question is how do i know which wires on the stator go on which terminal on the r/r because both my stator wires are white : side not please don’t buy anything from nick pizio from west chester pa clearly a scammer !
lynnmor 7,322 #2 Posted May 31 The white wires from the stator go to the two outside terminals of the voltage regulator, it doesn't matter which ones. To diagnose your charging problem download the Onan Service Manual. There you will see the specifications for the AC voltage coming from the stator and the DC charging voltage from the center terminal of the voltage regulator. Note that the body of the voltage regulator must have a good ground as it is the negative connection. 1
953 nut 55,397 #3 Posted June 1 In addition to checking for AC voltage of 36 +/- on the two outside terminals you will want to be sure the center terminal reads 12 Volts DC. The R/R will not work without battery voltage to the center terminal. 1

Pullstart 62,954 #5 Posted June 1 Congrats on the new ride! As for throwing stones, just remember that if two parties come to an agreement on a price, that sets the value. These aren’t new, and problems come along. It’ all part of the shuffle.

I bought my Deere 420 as "mechanally sound just needing cosmetics"...and 30 minutes in it lost compression on one side...seat came out the block, he knew because i followed the trail of new gaskets to the problem.
