rwalde 6 #1 Posted May 31 I have a set of fenders I removed from a 61 suburban 401 and they have a small flare that I've never seen before. Are they wheel horse? They exactly match a set of suburban fenders without the flare. I need an expert!

Pullstart 62,946 #3 Posted May 31 Looks like someone tossed them through a bead roller. Sweet!
953 nut 55,394 #4 Posted May 31 None of us worked at the Wheel Horse factory in 1960 so it is only speculation, but they may have stamped a few with that flare. They are nice looking fenders.
8ntruck 7,034 #5 Posted May 31 I'll agree with @Pullstart. Somebody probably made that with a bead roller. To stamp that when originally making the fender would have required a separate operation or a cam die. Both add cost to the part - unlikely in 1960, given the thrifty habits of those running the company at the time.

rwalde 6 #7 Posted June 1 Very intersting. If someone did it they did an impressive job. I was convinced it was factory it looked that good. Thanks for the input. Never know what you're going to see with these cool machines!
