This should be of help for the torque and the pattern, about page 83, NOTE  you will need to retorque the head several times after is goes thru a run & cool off cycle. Last H60 I did required 7 times...

what do u mean by the run & cool off cycle? i have never heard of that considering this is my first tecumpseh and i have only worked on small engines for a couple years and is that for a complete rebuild? @ri702bill

:text-yeahthat: I would say that the retorque after run & cool down would be for any time that a head has been removed and reinstalled.

I think that you are supposed tlo retorque the head until it retaines torque after a run & cool cycle.

Tightening the head bolts compresses the new head gasket. Aluminum head, cast iron block, steel bolts & gasket. All expand & contract at different rates when heated to operating temp and returned to room temp. The gasket compresses a bit more each cycle until "solid".

Ever go to remove a head bolt and it was already "loose" ?? Not properly torqued.....
