Year of my 520H

Hey everyone,

is there any other way to figure out the year of the 520H? I know the tag is supposed to be on the seat pan. However the guy I bought it from repainted the tractor and for whatever reason removed the tag. The tractor has steering column mounted controls, so 1990 and newer I believe?

Jeremy - Welcome!  Pictures would be helpful. A good closeup of the engine tag could help nail down the model year....

Some changes were made to the wiring systems of the 520 from year to year. You may be able to determine the exact year by comparing your wiring to one of these diagrams.

Photos would be the best way to determine the year.  There were few changes over the years and really not much reason to know the exact date of manufacture.  Since the tractor was repainted it might be impossible to determine the year since it is likely that changes were made.

At one time I thought there was a letter in the engine numbers that appeared to change each year but have never seen them published by Onan.
