Tecumseh help needed

Recommended Posts

Poppa69@wi.rr.com

Hi all. Newbie.

I have a 1999 Tecumseh hm100. I have been trying to get some help for almost 2 weeks now. This came with a stator the was about 1/4 of a circle (with only 2 "coils") , it does not put out enough "juice" for my application (transplant to a Montgomery Ward T555) . I have added lights etc. I need to get p/n"s for a stator and flywheel that will give me the juice I need to run the lights , work the starter and charge the battery. ANY info would be greatly appreciated. This was suppose to be done for the grandkids this weekend. Thank you for your time , Poppa

Change the lights to LEDs and problem solved if that's an option. :twocents-02cents:

Sounds like a 3 amp charge stator with just a couple of coils. That should be plenty to charge the battery which only burst juice for the starter minimally just when starting. LEDs use minimal juice and would run all night while still allowing the charging the battery to charge. Curious, what did you add for lights and how many?

If you have a small engine shop with a junkyard you can pick, look for a snowblower with heated grips.  Any HMSK80-120 should have the correct flywheel and stator.  Stator will have two wires on it, AC for lights and DC for battery charging.  The flywheel will have five magnets instead of three. Sorry I don't know the part numbers.

Suspect all the HM100 engines are listed here in no particular order.

https://www.partstree.com/search/?type=model&term=hm100

Toro has never used a HM100 engine so that resource ends.

Wow. Thanks for all the replies.Sorry  , I messed up . It's in a Tri Rod not the T 555.

I put a head light on , tail/stop light , blinkers and a horn.

Either way , it's not charging.

Thanks agin , I should be able to figure something out with all this info.
