314 Will not engage starter

Looking at other system wiring diagrams for your tractor I see that there is only ONE PTO switch,      :hide:     seems the Kill Relay performs the function the second half of the PTO switch on pre 1997 Wheel Horses did.  Sorry about that.

if I connect to 2 grey and 3 white, moving the lever should do nothing

You are correct.

If you apply 12 volts to the Gray wire of the PTO Switch wiring shown in your photo and then turn the key to START it should cause the solenoid to closer. If not recheck the Ten Amp fuses (I'm not sure which one).

I'll test that.  Wife told me gray is in the center and pink on the right of connector!  :confusion-shrug:

That is correct, forgot you said you are colorblind.

Found a Toro dealer with a PTO safety switch in stock, swapped it out, and mowed the lawn tonight.

BIG WIN!

Thanks to everyone, specially @953 nut, you really provided me a good introduction to basic electrical troubleshooting.  I really needed it!  Your time and diligence is very much appreciated.

I'll also be buying a starting solenoid.  I noticed when reattaching my + battery cable, there is a Crack in the solenoid plastic.  The journey never ends.

Adios, amigos!
