Interesting that the rubber latches are mounted inside the hood on the Workhorse, but outside the hood on my C-105... I like yours better. Cleaner and less "in the way"... :eusa-think:

My 310, 312, and 520 are all inside.     You do have to hold them out as you close the hood.

Yes, especially the 520.

The rubber latch seems to want to default to the inside if you don't hold it.

However, they do give you something to hold onto to pull the hood down.

My 92 312 and 87 308 are also rubber latches on the inside of the hood like @cleat’s Workhorse.

The 300/400 series use the same hood.  On my machines I take a piece of old seat edge trim and install it on the upper dash so it cushions the hood when it closes.

I used a piece of old but still good weather stripping on both of mine. It seems to work pretty well.

I normally do something like that as well.

With this one I went a different route and glued a piece of rubber gasket material to the bottom of the hood.
