gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,070 #3 Posted May 13 The regulator requires power on the DC+ to turn it on so to speak. This is done by the A terminal on the ignition switch in the RUN position. When switched to OFF the A terminal is no longer powered and grounded. Suspect this is to absorb any stray voltage spikes. One of the regulator terminals is connected to the DC+ terminal inside the regulator so AC current goes to the battery with the DC current. This may have something to do with the way it is wired.
