Magnum wiring diagram help..

I do not think it makes much difference.  The A and R terminal are both only live when switch is in run position.

The regulator requires power on the DC+ to turn it on so to speak.

This is done by the A terminal on the ignition switch in the RUN position.

When switched to OFF the  A terminal is no longer powered and grounded. Suspect this is to absorb any stray voltage spikes.

 

One of the regulator terminals is connected to the DC+ terminal inside the regulator so AC current goes to the battery with the DC current.

This may have something to do with the way it is wired.

Recall SOI explaining it but have forgotten what he said and not smart enough to figure it out.
