PTO safety switch

Hello All

Been try to solve this search on my own but I cant seem to find the switch I want for my 1990 312HYD. All the ones I've seen look nothing like mine. Wheel Horse store didn't get back to me either. My switch has two long tangs along side of it  that flex in or out with the movement of the PTO engagement lever. Also could use that spring that hold handle back when not in use buts that not a huge deal as I could fish one up at hardware location. Anyone familiar with one I have? Looking at a parts diagram it shows number 20. I just don't have the part number break down. TIA.

There are two switches with a bolt through them both making you think it is one.

These are relatively common microswitches.

I bought some generic ones off ebay.

Wheel Horse safety switches last time I looked were around $20. I bought mine when they were around $5  I bought one from Zoro when ording some pulleys and it was $ 4 and change

If I want to find it on Ebay what do I use for switch name doing a search?

Look for micro switches.  Digi Key is another source - they will have hundreds of types to choose from.  If you have an electronics supply company in town, they will likely have some.  Mc Master Carr or Granger are a couple of other sources.

If you are lucky you might find a brand name and number right on the switch.  Wheel Horse used common micro switches and put them in a bag with a high price tag.  If you find information on the switch, Google that and see what turns up.  I laid in a supply for my spares and the cost wasn't much.

This is the switch I bought online a few years ago.

I think I bought a bag of 10 for a few dollars.

I see that you can still buy bags of V-152-1C25 switches for cheap, there no need to pay ridiculous prices.

You can also rebuild later style seat switches using one of those micro switches.  Cut the lever off the switch then drill out the rivets holding the switch into the bracket.  Bolt in the new switch using 4-40 screws and lock nuts.  You can also buy micro switches without the lever just for this purpose.

Okay now I'm stumped. I replaced both micro switches since I had the switch bracket out. I installed the missing return spring on PTO handle. Now the engine wont crank unless I move PTO handle is moved forward about 3 inches. Far as I can tell there is no adjustment on where the switches sit to adjust contacts. Any clue on what I'm missing that might be staring me in the face?

If you look down at the switches with the PTO in the off position they should both be depressed and as you move the PTO lever forward you should be able to see how the linkage moves out of the way and the switches should move out.

If the switches are doing this then they are physically installed properly.

I can get some pictures tomorrow if you need them.

Look at the photos in post #10 above, see if your NC and NO are reversed.  If so, simply switch the wires around.
