Fordiesel69 263 #1 Posted May 9 What is everyone's opinion overall with the B-100 model? I have an overwhelming amount of tractors and in some way or another can always find a reason to like each one and justify keeping it. However, I really need to let a few go to make room for my newly aquired pair of black hoods (C125-8 and C165-8). I keep telling myself that either of the blackhoods are exellent replacements for the B-100. What are all of your thoughts on this. Keep or sell, and more importantly why?
Lee1977 6,659 #2 Posted May 9 I would keep the B-100 it's a lot easer to change equipment on the older tractors then the later C-series. I midht do some engine swapping between the ones you listed after using them and deciding witch has the best engine.. I have two 312-8 simular to later C's and they are a pain to change equipment on and hard to grease the steering block.
stevasaurus 22,740 #3 Posted May 9 The B-100 is a sweet horse. Mine was the Raffel Tractor at the Big Show in 2010. It still runs great and looks great. I do have a blade for it, but I use it more for moving my boat and a lite hauling trailer. 6
Pullstart 62,881 #4 Posted May 9 I get a ton of work done with my 502, with an 8 horse engine and an 8 speed. It’s practically a B-80 for all intensive purposes. The 10 hp Kohler has a shorter stroke than the 12, 14, and 16 hp big block singles. It should sip less fuel by comparison than its big siblings, but have even more torque than the 8 hp small blocks. Perfect chores combo!
Handy Don 12,232 #5 Posted May 9 I’ve been quite pleased with the 854 and its swapped-in 6-speed LSD. I’ve run a 36” mower, moved heavily loaded trailers up steep hills (and dumped before heading down!), and pushed a well-loaded grader through hard-packed dirt/gravel. I agree with the other comments, the 10hp with the 8-speed is gonna be stout and reliable and economical and hard-working.

stevasaurus 22,740 #8 Posted May 9 What parts are you missing @Vintage_Wheel_Horse_Lover?? Try one of our vendors and/or put an ad in our classifieds. Where in Illinois are you??
Retired Wrencher 5,457 #9 Posted May 10 I think the B series were at peek of design by Wheel Horse. Simple by design but hard working tractor with a rock solid eight speed and of course a K Kohler... And as we know but other manufactures wish they built them this way.
John c 79 #10 Posted May 10 If you have room enough to store them all i say you keep it
Fordiesel69 263 #11 Posted May 10 That is the problem....you guys aint helping me....I got 21 tractors and not enough room to keep. Was going thru the list of stuff I do not use, and/or things I have duplicates of, and its really a struggle.

Seeing you have so many, I'm guessing you have ones that barely get used, if at all. Those are the ones I'd thinking about letting someone else get some use out of. We came into this life with nothing, and that's the way we're leaving it.

Lee1977 6,659 #18 Posted May 13 There's nothing wrong with making life a little easer whlie your still here. I had one Wheel Horse for 37 years, I now have five. If one is out of service I don't have to rush getting it fixed. What ever I need to do get's done.
Fordiesel69 263 #19 Posted May 13 I have 5 properties to tend within the family and I figure i would like to slim the heard down to 2 per location. 10 is still better than 21. (and cheaper).
