jimt1971 237 #1 Posted August 29, 2009 Hello All, I have a 12 hp K series Kohler. The rod siezed on the crank so I know the crank will need to be cut and the rod replaced. I have the opportunity to get a rod and crank from a m-12 would this be a direct fit. Or would I be better off getting the crank cut and a new rod? Thanks, Jim
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted August 29, 2009 The crankshaft will interchange - providing the PTO end is the same dimensions. (you knew that) There might be a few exceptions, but I have yet to encounter them. As long as the rod has the correct "dipper" length and matches the piston, it will interchange too. (old style vs. new style Mahle piston)
