tell me about inner tubes.

I have two ag tires that I want to install tubes in. 23 x 850 x 12. Been looking at tubes on the net. Lots of different offerings. Am I to assume that the valve stem on all these are offset the proper amount for the wheels we use?

You will want a TR-13 valve stem.    TUBE STEMS & SIZING

Marv.... You need a tube tjhat the stem fits a .453 diameter hole. (the corresponding tubeless stem would be a TR 413).

Do yourself a big favor. IF you buy "low cost" tubes from an offshore supplier - do not destroy the packaging - inflate the tubes 2 or 3 days before you need to install them. They MAY not hold air.... Return and replace the offenders. Use what works. BT, DT.

I have been lucky enough to have all 6 of my cheap tubes fit and hold air fine so far.

This picture is from @WHX?? when he was putting "NEW" tubes into the new tires on my A-60. He mounted them and both tubes opened up at the seams when inflated.

Was a real pain on small rims too. I think what happened is me airing and unairing to get the stem straight. Crooked stem is a pet peeve of mine. Still they shouldn't have split like that. Wasn't like I pinched it with the tire spoon.

Do be careful on pulling the trigger Marv. Richard  did order some with the wrong stem. :hide: Read the fine print. These will not work.

Ones with the TR 13 stem should be fine.

Not necessarily Bill. Some rims I just did had the .625 or 5/8 hole.

If you run into that these are real cheap

The only tubes i I hve used lately were made for Firestone. Don't know where they were made, I bought them from a local tire store. I hnow that some members have bad luck getting off the enternet.

You can get Firestone branded ones off the 'net. For a higher price of course and are they really Firestones?

The last few tubes I've bought have been from a local tire dealer and they were Firestone and said made in Vietnam on them, and I haven't had any problems with them.

Thank you so much. Very helpful. The ones I was looking at have the TR13 valve stem.
