jdb 0 #1 Posted April 30 I have a 312-8 with a magnum Kohler 12 in it. It will not start and I think I need the year to get the correct wiring diagram. Any tips on where to start looking would be appreciated. I have replaced the starter solenoid and ignition switch.
ri702bill 8,387 #2 Posted April 30 Welcome!! Could be you got the wrong style 5 prong ignition switch. They look the same externally, but are completely different circuitwise. One is for Battery style ignition, the other Magneto, They do NOT interchange.....

kpinnc 12,175 #5 Posted April 30 Magnums came on tractors after 1987. Depending on the year, there were several safety switches added. For one, the plutch pedal had to be depressed to start. Depending on the PTO safety switches, the seat switch may come into play as well. May take a while to figure it out, but knowing the model number will make it easier.
