cJ_3D 9 #1 Posted April 30 Hey friends! Picking up my first wheel horse today. A 252-H and I looked at it over the weekend. I know it won't move by hand. Even in neutral, parking break disengaged and the lever for depressurizing the transmission in the down-right position. So what should I look for to get it moving when I pick it up this evening? I read the snub valve can get stuck but I don't know where that is to check it. Does anyone have a photo of that location? I looked at the transmission owners manual (Eaton 7 correct?) And didn't see anything called snub valve. What is the official term for it like what would I look for in the manual? Thanks for any help you all can provide. I won't too much time so looking for quick things to check. Otherwise I'm gonna have to break out the come-along and drag it onto the trailer. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hi Maynard, Yes but like I mentioned pushing that lever down isn't releasing it. I have manuals but unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable enough on the terminology to know what part if the diagrams I need to look at to know where to release. No go on the driving, no battery and fuel tank needs to be cleaned out and I'll need to install a fuel filter and clean the carb and fuel pump. He cleaned the carb and replaced the fuel pump but with as much gunk that was in it, already gunked the carb and fuel pump again. Fuel lines were replaced too he just got tired of messing with it. stevasaurus 22,841 #6 Posted April 30 By the sound of it, your choice is to jack up the rear end and put something with wheels under the tires. A creeper might work, a furnature dolly, a fork lift. One thing for sure, if you can't get it to free roll DO NOT push it. You will ruin the transmission. You might put the rear end on some good cardboard or a piece of paneling, then you could pull it slowly. Reguardless, you may have to lift the back of the tractor to get it on a trailer. If it is what I am thinking, 2 guys should be able to lift the back of the tractor up...not that heavy. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

cJ_3D 9 #8 Posted May 1 After further investigation turns out the brake is stuck that's why it won't roll. Should be a simple fix. So I don't see a place for a fuel filter. Did these not come with it? I mean easy enough to add one but should I if it's not needed? The gas tank is nasty so will definitely need to be cleaned. So that and clean the fuel pump, add a fuel filter, clean the carb and get that brake unstuck. Also needs new tires, belts and battery.
