Brockport Bill 1,662 #1 Posted April 23 i have a set of rear tires 23x10.5x12 on rims that are likely not WH rims - there is no clearance for inside of tire rubbing against the side of the gas tank frame -- therefore, I have option of selling tires and rims - or trying the idea of "hub spacers" to move the wheel/rim/tire further out from gas tank frame? Spacers are not something I am familar with - but recall a prior thread or photo somewhere on forum????? Does a RSq vendor sell hub spacers or someone know where to buy - and pricing? Is the idea of hub spacer practical solution ? Any info or experience with this issue is appreciated? thanks, Bill
ebinmaine 67,506 #2 Posted April 23 I've run wheel spacers for years Bill. Definitely a good viable option. I can post a list of what's needed later.

Plus having studs is so much better! Just one word of caution: if you use the tractor to mow with, keep in mind how wide to go. On a 42 inch deck, 1.5 to 2 inches per wheel is about as wide as you can go on 10.50 tires and stay in between the guage wheels. 1
Brockport Bill 1,662 #6 Posted April 24 do these spacers come in different thickness --- or only one? Can they be purchased multiple sources? Do any Red Sq vendors supply the hub spacers? thanks, Bill

They can be anything from 1/4" up to 2" 3 hours ago, Brockport Bill said: Can they be purchased multiple sources? I'd imagine most performance shops would have them. Summit. Jegs. Etc. Maybe wheel and/or tire stores. I use the ones in the link I sent because they're the least expensive I've found. Some places sell them for 2 or 3 TIMES that price. I can't justify the difference for a 6 mph off road machine. 3 hours ago, Brockport Bill said: Do any Red Sq vendors supply the hub spacers? Not that I'm aware of. These aren't specifically a tractor part or very commonly used on them. 3 hours ago, Brockport Bill said: I may even have a spare set if 1.5" here Bill. I'd be glad to set you up with a full "kit" for whatever my cost is. Easy peasy. 2

Lee1977 6,659 #9 Posted April 24 (edited) They need to have a large enough hole in the center to clear the raised ring on the hub that is 3 1/8". The ones I have are 82.5 mm center or 3 1/4". They were made for some model Jeep. Some with 5 lug on 4.5" bolt circle don't have a hole large enough to fit on a Wheel Horse. I got bit by that on the first set I ordered several years ago. The ones in the link I keep handing nowadays claim to have 87.1 mm Center opening. 1 hour ago, 87 416-8 horse said: @ebinmainecould you posts the link public?? It goes against Red Square policy to post sales links to other sites but I'd be more than happy to send you a PM with the info. Notwithstanding that, I have to update the link every few months because the listings on fleeeeBay expire so I have to choose a new product. 2 1

Also make sure they are lug centric, not hub centric. Lug centric do not have a ring on the face of the spacer.
John2189 453 #12 Posted April 25 Ed could you send me the links for the spacers ? I have a c165 and the tires rub the inside. I thought about moving the hubs out 1/2” or so, but that probably wouldn’t be good john
