953 rear axle plow bracket

Recommended Posts

Have the original plow bracket that attaches to rear axle for the front plow. Which way does it mount? Does the slots for the plow frame face forward of down? My 654 bracket faces down & C105 faces forward.

Will a long frame plow fit the 953 or only the specific plow listed in accessories catalog? My long frame plow fits my C105 but the blade is a newer part as it's got Toro label on it. Also if my long frame plow fits will it line up with the hydraulic lift? I do have the original lift arm.

Unfortunately no pics cause plow is apart in shed loft. Pic of plow bracket. I'm sure I can figure it out but I need to really know if my plow will even work on the 953??

That bracket mounts to the front of the axle with the notches down.    :twocents-mytwocents:

:text-yeahthat:         The ears of the latch will be pointed to the back and be lifted to remove the blade.    Simple matter of physics, The force of the blade pushing a load will be transferred directly to the axle housing.

This is hitch on 1054 with Wheel Weights. Ww-93.

our 1054 tractors also had a drawbar hitch welded to the back of the snowplow hitch for added usage.  The drawbar does not interfere with operation of the hydraulic lift rear hitch.

I like the drawbar hitch. I do have the weights as well. I really would like to.make a functioning 3pt hitch & I discussed it some w/953nut already. Or I may just order 2" receiver from Lowell....

Will my long frame plow fit or will I need the 953/1054 specific plow???

Never had a long frame plow on one .  I suspect the long frame plow might work if the 3/4 bar is moved forward.

I have used a long frame plow on the 953. Had to modify the angle lever a bit to miss the running board but nothing too radical.

@ML3  https://www.google.com/search?q=hitch+pin+clips&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS866US866&oq=hitch++pin+clips&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQ , prefer  the 1/8 " size  for durability , also push those thru  the swing lever mount holes , thru to the last end hole , that will prevent them from , falling out , known to happen , looks like a lubrication spray down  would help , in movement areas , hunt around  for best price , hitch pin clips , pete
