ebinmaine 69,729 #1 Posted April 15, 2024 A big thanks to @PWL216 for bringing this to me. This'll be a future project for the BBT and me. The numbers show it to be a 1974. The engine has been replaced. Unfortunately the serial/spec number isn't legible. The engine appears to be blue...ish (?) 6

Cinnamon Horse C160-8 is a combination of two. So this one's technically #8.
pfrederi 18,187 #4 Posted April 15, 2024 Blue was often a generic engine not made for a specific customer.

If you enlarge the picture and look at the how the PTO side of the engine block is machined you'll see a raised round area. Congratulations on this score! Does it run?
JoeM 7,886 #7 Posted April 15, 2024 cough cough cough.......you know that is a "slush box machine"? getting soft or the price must have been right! I ran a 12 hp green replacement engine on a hydro for 20 years. no issues I figure it is still running and mowing somewhere.

I remembered gray and black as "Counter engine" colors. Now that you mention it, the K582 Twin I have is a similar shade of blue underneath. 2 hours ago, Bill D said: Definitely not a Wheel Horse spec engine. True. The oil dipstick is also at an odd angle. 2 hours ago, Bill D said: If you enlarge the picture and look at the how the PTO side of the engine block is machined you'll see a raised round area. The wiring was "repaired" by a PO and isn't quite all there. 43 minutes ago, JoeM said: cough cough cough.......you know that is a "slush box machine"? getting soft or the price must have been right! @PWL216 Did a good deed by buying and saving a collection from someone. He passed a another good deed on to me. As the second Hydro here I have a couple ideas. I thought is to have a powered rear lift specifically for gardening work.
Retired Wrencher 5,590 #9 Posted April 15, 2024 (edited) Eric looks like you have another fine worker there. It should be a good addition to the fleet of workers you have. Edited April 15, 2024 by Retired Wrencher
