ebinmaine 67,502 #1 Posted April 11 Can somebody tell me what the lift link chain specs are? We have a couple different ones here that vary a little bit. Also, is there a simple procedure for adjusting the length of the trunnion and screw when setting up a deck?
squonk 41,118 #2 Posted April 11 I don't think the size matters. I've had several different sizes on tractors. As far as adjustments, raise the lift and tighten the nut so the rubber bumpers on the deck are against the footboards. 4
ri702bill 8,322 #3 Posted April 11 I don't think the size matters... Not to often that this is the case, but it is. Adjusting the trunnion, regardless of the chain style, sets the height. On the C81, I find it easier to remove the lower dash panel to get better access..... I remove the chain and trunnion for plowing - I use a solid link to give down pressure. The chain setup goes back on - untouched - when the deck goes back on... 1
peter lena 8,628 #4 Posted April 11 @ri702bill agree on the dash panel , also gives you an opportunity to washer up that sloppy trunnion hook up , note side play , wearing out the slide in clip ? firm that up / grease it , makes it solid smooth , also a spot to try a HEIM JOINT , just sayin , pete

peter lena 8,628 #6 Posted April 11 @ebinmaine yup , regularly , looking right at you ! more often than not , firming up linkage / lever ends , lube , make s it all good . after detailing a chronic lever , like PTO AREA , it works so easily / smoothly , hard to believe its the same hook up , pete

This is my system, as well. When setting up new chain or deck, it’s Important to start by loosening the eyebolt through the trunnion first, especially if you have a hydro lift, lest it crunch the deck frame against the tractor frame. 😬
