ebinmaine 66,582 #1 Posted April 7 I need to procure several of the springs that keep tension on the lock/release mechanism of the Mid Hitch. #7 in the diagram @gwest_ca posted a few posts down in the thread below. I found a listing on a later model picture of PN Toro 8616. Will that work for an older Mid 70s hitch as well. Any chance of getting SPECS for those springs so I can try to find them locally? cleat 5,706 #2 Posted April 7 The 1976 C-160 uses the same spring according to partstree.com if that helps.

There is a lock hole in the hitch put in a pin with a spring clip to hold it and charge on. I had my 48" deck to come off twice in about thirty minutes one hot June day. I used a 1/4" bolt, had to grind off one side to get it to fit.

I don't mind that spring being weak but we have several sets of mid hitches in bags on the shelf that are MISSING the spring altogether. Rust belt up here apparently eats them. I checked the hitches for that pin hole too. At least one of ours doesn't have it. I can certainly drill it out.

We have a large rust problem down here to, but my C-120/180 has been left out side over a night or two in the last 47 years.
