When I got it I thought it had 143k miles judging by the body but I think it’s 43k because it still has the cross haching and no ring ridge! You can't go just by that on those old cast iron Fords. I pulled apart my first 2.9 with a known 215K miles on it. Cross-hatch visible, no ring ridge, and the part numbers on the main bearings were still readable. My dad bought that truck used when it was 1 year old with about 10K on it, between me and him we put the other 205K on it and it was never out of our possession.
87 416-8 horse 422 #52 Posted April 30, 2024 Pulled the engine out with the excavator and the rear axel. Now it’s time to slice and dice the frame with the torch.

87 416-8 horse 422 #55 Posted May 1, 2024 The parts truck is now a pile of truck parts and scrap. Everything in front of the fuel tanks are parts.

My dad has a 72 Pontiac Ventura and I was thinking the lines that I can see looked similar.
87 416-8 horse 422 #60 Posted September 12, 2024 The project has begun! A couple weeks ago I took the head from the parts truck engine to be ported out. It turns out it was cracked. Last night we pulled the cab and stripped the engine down. I’m going to have it bored out and the head ported out to let it breathe. Next I'm going to strip the frame down and repaint it with frame paint and primer. 1
