This wheel horse powered wood splitter popped up on my marketplace suggestions this morning. First of its kind that I’ve ever seen and I thought some of you here might appreciate it. Running condition for 400$ is tempting

welcome, but I have never seen anything like it. it looks like they unbolted a round hood from the transmission and bolted it onto a log splitter, it is a wheel horse frame on the front, it would be cool, but $400 might be a bit. does it run? if it does it might if you would use it

Up here in Maine that would be a good deal.

 

 

We searched on purpose for an older log splitter that was a lot more powerful than the modern stuff at the Disposable stores and we paid more than what this one is advertised for.

Definitely homemade but not worth 400 in my book. Wood splitter heavy ya know.

See… I think that’s where you might be wrong Uncle Jim.  Though I swing axe still, like a running and cutting rider mower of any sorts or color, I bet it’s worth $400 all day if it runs and splits.    On the other hand, there is a splitter here with a very new 22 hp Predator that still just sits while I (or @Lil’ Pullstart)swing axe.

It does look to be a whole horse frame on the front but I’m not a pro

As far as I can tell, it’s a pretty good deal here in CT as well. A lot of guys sell box store splitters with blown up engines for nearly 400$
