giant_g2 24 #1 Posted March 30, 2024 Hi all, I'm working on restoring a 6-0200 snow blower. I'm trying to get to the bottom bearings (#3 and #10 in the part diagram on this site). It looks like I should be able remove the wheel on the left side of the unit and then pull the rod through from the right side wheel. It seems like that should be the way to remove the auger, but it seems stuck. I didn't see any pins or set screws so I'm guessing one of the bearings might be stuck on the rod or something. I wanted to see if anyone had tips for removing it before I give it another dose of PB Blaster and break out a big hammer.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #2 Posted March 31, 2024 You have it figured out correctly. I drove some hardwood wedges behind the right lever - one from the rear on the top of the shaft and one from the front on the bottom of the shaft. Keep them tight and go at the far end with that big hammer but don't mushroom the end of the shaft. Good luck.
