Ed Kennell 38,178 #2 Posted March 29 Great find. He'll really look nice after a little wire brushing and a light oil rub. 2

bc_gold 71 #5 Posted March 29 Missed out on the long horn steer, someone else had claimed it, now to learn taxidermy. Also want to tan a few hides, purchased a pressure washer for de-fleshing.

Its suggested to use the rotary nozzle. Edited March 29 by bc_gold

Quite a few of the local pros use the bugs with good success with minimum labor. I just boil my skulls for the European mounts, then use Chlorox and peroxide for a wash and whitener. I clean the older mounts with a bit of linseed oil on a cloth. It picks up the dust and really brings life back into the antlers and horns. Just a reminder, If you boil to clean skulls, suspend them so the antlers/horns are not in the boil. Edited March 29 by Ed Kennell

I'll be picking up 20 litres 35% peroxide next week and was curious what effect it would have on flesh.
