Ex wh1257 61 #1 Posted March 24 Hello everyone, anyone who can help me, wants to make an original exhaust for my RJ 58, now on my motorcycle 2 threaded ends were provided to tighten an exhaust, now I thought that if I remove it, there would be a thread in the round hole for a tube can be screwed in, unfortunately this is not possible, so my question is how do you solve this or how is it made, thanks in advance
wallfish 17,000 #2 Posted March 24 Couple of ways you can do it. Get a 3/4" NPT tap and cut the threads into the engine exhaust hole. Or you can make a flange for the pipe, Shape it and drill the proper holes, weld it to the pipe and bolt it to the engine. Just noticed Belguim so I'm not sure exactly what you have easy access to for pipe and or parts
ri702bill 8,323 #3 Posted March 24 AND, being on the other side of the Pond, It may be a tad difficult to find NPT taps. Download the manual for the tractor, see how it was done originally........
Maxwell-8 4,275 #5 Posted March 24 Any good hardware store has NPT pipes and fittings, Taps in NPT are also easy to find. One of the only things we use in imperial on the regularly here.
