johnnymag3 2,521 #5 Posted March 22 (edited) There is an alignment issue.......rod is pushing band to the outboard side......it should be in a different Brake band, or a longer pivot...to push straightforward. peter lena 8,716 #9 Posted March 22 @rmaynard brake rod is saposed to push straight back , correct ? so if you unhook the push rod , turn the bracket over , so the rod hole is inside , of band the push rod would , be pushing against the strength of the band , inside thrust would hold the band in place / without slid force angling it to outside . thats what I see , BTW , also use conveyor belting , for my brakes . just my view of the situation , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I straightened the band while still on the tractor but it was too full of muck to leave it. That's grass dirt grease etc. While cleaning that all out the show fell out. Off to the parts shelf I went. peter lena 8,716 #15 Posted March 24 @ebinmaine agree with you on the fix , typically it was a COMBINATION OF ISSUES THAT CREATED THAT , another thing that has really helped , related levers / linkage areas , is to firm up movement connections . regularly added washers , lube , have also gone to a HEIM JOINT , at awkward connections , like the male / female screw on , cut off original end , related DIE NUT , threading , put that on my clutch rod years ago , bombproof , don't tell any body , pete 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
